Hm, this is a new non-creepy expression from Carl. Interesting?

Sorry for the delay (again), but naturally, this page (and the next) will be a bit of a doozy. I may be livestreaming sometime in the near future, make sure to stay updated with all things CoB on my Tumblr, if you're interested in seeing my process!

Now we get a glimpse into the origins of Sampson's nature. Crap runs down hill as they say and so Sampson looks for people weaker than himself to pick on just as he is picked on by someone who is stronger. By the way. I think anybody would hate a crappy, low wage job like this one. It's Modern day slavery.
Kupocake 15th May 2012, 11:32 PM Reply
By Sampson, do you mean Carl? :O

Hahaha yeah, crappy low-wage jobs are the bane of everyone's existence, but someone's gotta do it. D:

Loving the background for last panel!

Maybe not creeped, but just distressed. Poor thing. :<
Thank you! :D

Awesome artwork! You also do nice dialogue. And, haha, how is his hair sticking out of his helmet?
Kupocake 16th May 2012, 2:47 PM Reply
Hahaha thanks!

I drew up a quick sketch on how Carl's hair would work with a helmet. Basically, it sticks forward, and then swoops to the side. Like this.

I like how you had to work out anatomy for his hair.

I put a lot of thought into the little details. Sometimes, too much. D:

I am a fan of too much thought. Kinda reminds me of back in high school when I read the Hellsing manga--that artist had the best explanations for details (or lack thereof) I ever heard. Among his most memorable were "the reason the bullets never run out is because everyone has cosmoguns with a million rounds" and "where is Anderson keeping all of the bayonets? He's actually fourth-dimensional, so there."

Kouta Hirano had some of the most unusual/hilarious explanations of any comic artist out there, yes. XD

Awesome last frame, and it's good to see Carl get a little humble pie for his efforts. :)

Good thing his hair fits through the holes in that helmet. Or is is specially made?
